What we believe / Core Values

What we believe shapes how we show up.

At Granite Pointe, our values aren't words on a wall. They are the principles behind the choices we make, the way we treat people, and the standard we hold ourselves to.

When the answer isn't obvious, our values help us find the right one.

We believed people deserved excellent clinical care without sacrificing warmth, hospitality, or genuine human connection.

And we believed the people providing that care deserved a place where they could learn, grow, contribute, and become exceptional.

That belief became Granite Pointe.

Passion for helping others

We genuinely care about people!

We look for opportunities to improve someone's experience—not because we're required to, but because helping people is who we are.

It means paying attention. Looking for opportunities to help. Making someone's day a little easier. Sharing what we know. Stepping in when someone needs support.

We don't wait to be asked when we can make a difference.

What it looks like:

  • We notice when someone needs help.

  • We make time for people.

  • We share knowledge generously.

  • We celebrate the success of others.

  • We look for ways to make someone's experience better.

  • We treat every person with genuine care and respect.

We don't just ask, “What is my job?”
We ask, “How can I help?”

Own It

We take responsibility for the experience we create!

We don't hide behind “that's not my job.”

When we see something that needs attention, we take ownership or find the person who can help.

Ownership means following through. It means addressing a problem instead of passing it along. Taking responsibility when something goes wrong. Speaking up when something could be better. And caring enough to see something through to the end.

Your role may have boundaries.

Ownership doesn't.

What it looks like:

  • We do what we say we will do.

  • We follow through.

  • We solve problems instead of simply identifying them.

  • We admit mistakes and learn from them.

  • We don't say, “That's not my job,” when we can help.

  • We take responsibility for the outcome—not just our part.

See it. Own it. Solve it.

Yes Mindset

We look for possibilities!

A Yes Mindset doesn't mean saying yes to everything.

It means approaching people, challenges, and opportunities with curiosity instead of resistance.

When something doesn't work, we look for another way.

When we don't know, we learn.

When we're challenged, we don't immediately say, “We can't.”

We ask:

“How might we?”

What it looks like:

  • We approach challenges with optimism.

  • We look for solutions before obstacles.

  • We stay curious.

  • We are willing to learn something new.

  • We support new ideas.

  • We ask questions instead of making assumptions.

  • We find a way whenever a way exists.

We don't lead with “No.”
We lead with “Let's see what's possible.”

When Values Collide

Sometimes the right answer isn't obvious.

That's when our values work together.

Passion for Helping Others reminds us to care.

Own It reminds us to take responsibility.

Yes Mindset reminds us to look for a way forward.

Together, they help us make decisions that are good for our patients, good for our team, and true to who we are.

What We Choose

We believe culture isn't created by what we say we value.

It is created by what we consistently choose.

We choose to care.

We choose to take ownership.

We choose to look for possibilities.

We choose to help.

We choose to keep learning.

We choose to raise the standard.

And we choose to make Granite Pointe a place where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to become exceptional.

These are not simple values. This is how we choose to show up.

We never want people to simply say: “That is just another workplace.” or "That is just another optometry office."

We want them to say:  “Granite Pointe does things with genuine purpose.”

Something deliberate.

Something honest.

Something inspiring.

Something that lasts.

"What we believe defines what we build: shared knowledge, purposeful action, and lasting impact."
