Our Story and Promise

Granite Pointe began with a simple vision and belief: eye care could be exceptional in every sense of the word.  That vision belonged to our founder and CEO, Dr. John Okamoto.  After gaining valuable experience within a large healthcare organization, Dr. Okamoto saw an opportunity to create something different—a practice where clinical excellence and genuine human connection could exist side by side.  He envisioned a place where patients received exceptional eye care and left feeling valued, cared for, and genuinely delighted by their experience. 

But his vision extended beyond the patient experience.  He wanted to create a workplace where physicians and team members felt inspired, supported, challenged, and proud to come to work each day.  He believed that when people are cared for exceptionally, they naturally care for others exceptionally.  That belief became the foundation of Granite Pointe Eye Care.

From the beginning, Granite Pointe was never intended to be just another eye care practice.  We were built on a simple but powerful belief: Exceptional clinical care should be paired with exceptional hospitality.  Every patient interaction should be personal.  Every  relationship should be meaningful.  Every experience should leave an impression.  And the same standard should extend to the people who make Granite Pointe possible every day.

Since opening our doors in October 2003, Granite Pointe has continued to grow while remaining grounded in the principles that started it all.  Our purpose remains clear: 

To provide unreasonable hospitality to build everlasting connections.

We strive to deliver innovative eye care, create meaningful experiences, and build lasting relationships with every patient and every member of our team.  As Granite Pointe grows and expands into new communities, our commitment remains unchanged. We are building an organization where exceptional care is expected, people are valued, and meaningful connections matter.

Granite Pointe is not defined by a building, a location, or a single person.  It is defined by the people who choose to be part of it.  Every interaction you have, every problem you solve, every patient you care for, and every teammate you support contributes to what Granite Pointe becomes.
